I have been mesmerized with live theatre since I saw Peter Pan at the age of 6. I had my first role that same year in The Lion Who Lost Its Roar at my elementary school. I had one line, and I forgot to say it the night my parents came to see the show. My career then took a brief hiatus until I was 15, when I appeared in The Lottery and didn't have any lines. I attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where I started out as a violin major (another great passion of mine.) However, I discovered that playing the violin every day decreased my pleasure in the art. At the same time, I became involved in the theatre program and found the exact opposite. The more I acted, the more I needed to act. I changed my major to a BFA in Theatre Arts. Since graduating, I have found some great opportunities to continue to shape my craft. I toured the country with American Family Theatre performing Babes in Toyland and Pinocchio. I currently perform with American Eagle Productions in shows such as The Diary of Anne Frank, Charlotte's Web, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and James and the Giant Peach. Other favorite roles include: Vicki in The Full Monty, Rose in The Secret Garden, Eve in Ruthless, and Sabine in The Most Massive Woman Wins. Overall, I believe in the power of theatre to affect people. Sometimes great lessons can come from the simplest of messages. |
